Mohamed Salah is reportedly close to finalizing a two-year contract extension with Liverpool, despite ongoing speculation linking him to a potential transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

However, his manager, Arne Slot, has stated that he is not concerned about Salah’s contract situation.

Manager’s Confidence in Salah

In a recent interview, Slot emphasized Salah’s importance to the team, saying:

“I work with a lot of quality players here, and Mo (Mohamed Salah) is definitely one of them.
He needs to score goals like our other attackers, but he also plays a crucial role in our defensive efforts.
We defend as a unit and attack as a unit. He has consistently been the end product of our attacks for years at Liverpool. Let’s hope he can keep that up in the coming weeks.”

Slot had previously mentioned in November that the uncertainty surrounding Salah’s future was not distracting him as they focused on their league and Champions League matches.

Contract Extension Progress

Recent reports indicate that Salah and Liverpool have reached an agreement on a two-year contract extension that would keep him at Anfield until the end of the 2026/27 season.

This comes after months of negotiations, with initial discussions stalled over the length of the contract; Salah’s camp sought a three-year deal while the club was only willing to offer one year.

Despite previous concerns about salary demands, it appears that both parties have found common ground.

Salah is currently Liverpool’s highest earner, reportedly making over £400,000 per week.

Salah’s Impact on Liverpool

Salah has been in exceptional form this season, scoring 15 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions.

His contributions have been pivotal in keeping Liverpool at the top of the Premier League standings and advancing in the Champions League.

The Egyptian forward has expressed his desire to remain with Liverpool, stating that he aims to continue contributing to the team’s success.

With his current contract set to expire next summer, securing his future at Anfield would be a significant relief for both the club and its fans.

Looking Ahead

As Liverpool prepares for their upcoming match against Fulham, all eyes will be on Salah as he continues to deliver outstanding performances on the pitch.

With his contract situation seemingly resolved, fans can look forward to seeing more of their star player in action as he aims to help lead Liverpool to further glory this season.
