The South African Minister in the Presidency, Jackson Mthembu has died from complications related to the deadly disease, COVID-19, My Gokwe has learnt.
He was 62.
Media report that his death was announced by the South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa which described the late as an exemplary leader, an activist nd life long champion of freedom and democracy.
the South African was quoted saying, “He was a much-loved and greatly respected colleague and comrade, whose passing leaves our nation at a loss.”
“I extend my deepest sympathies to the Minister’s family, to his colleagues, comrades and many friends,” he added.
